After numerous cancellations, Adelphi finally had the opportunity to play their first game of 2014. It was worth the wait, having beat Virginia Wesleyen 2-1 in a pitcher-dominated game.
Neither of the runs were credited with RBIs–an error, and bases-loaded double play, but it did not matter because the combination of Stephen Bove, John Mulford, Vinny Caputo, John Donnelly and TJ Santiago held down the opponent in sunny Virginia.
The Panthers compiled only four hits in the contest. They will now face Hofstra on Tuesday in Uniondale.
