The Golden Eagles of St. Joseph’s handled Merchant Marine 11-4 thanks to seven unanswered runs. They were able to put up double-digit runs despite only seven hits in large part to the patience at the plate which resulted in eight walks.

Tom Rubenstein went 4-for-4 with two RBI and Joe Liberatore went 2-for-2 with four runs scored to give the pitching staff more than enough to work with.

Matt Mills recorded his first win of the season, throwing 1.2 scoreless innings in relief of starter Matt Hess.

The Golden Eagles have a crucial weekend, with double headers against Purchase and Maritime. They will have the opportunity to pull even at .500 if they win all four.
