March 2 Recap

Two teams competed on Friday, with one making their season debut. Teams went 0-3 on the day. Here’s a look at what happened:

Division-I

St. Johns: The Red Storm’s game versus UC Davis was postponed.

Stony Brook: Stony Brook falls to No. 1 Florida 12-5. Starter Greg Marino struggled early, giving up four earned runs over 4.1 innings. Stony Brook was up 5-3 in the fourth until Florida closed the final five innings with nine unanswered runs. Sea Wolves outfielder Dylan Reck had an excellent day at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two RBI’s and one run scored. Stony Brook pounded out 11 hits on the night but left six runners on base. The Sea Wolves move to 6-2 on the season with the loss.

Ju-Co:

Suffolk: Suffolk County Community College lost the first game of the season 18-7 to Garrett College in the first game of their double header

In the second game the Sharks came up short once again, losing 6-5 to Montgomery. Suffolk moves to 0-2 to start the season. There were no stats available online for either of the games.
