LI Boys of Summer Baseball this fall has been in full swung as we enter late into September. This version features the LI Elite taking on the Smithtown Bulls in a 15u matchup at Brentwood State Park. After the Bulls took down the Elite in game one in stunning fashion, the Elite didn’t let that faze them coming into game two._x000D_

Colin Rosen got the nod for the Elite with determination in his eyes. Colin was electric in this game as he kept the Elite in the game as it went back and forth early on. First, the Bulls struck first when they went up 1-0 on a Ryan Conk RBI double. The Elite never let any deficit bring them down as they were able to respond with aggressive base running. Justin Tighe got the job done with a two run single giving the Elite the lead._x000D_

Flashforward to the fourth inning, the score was 4-3 Bulls when the Elite had an offensive EXPLOSION. Ethan Grembergen stepped up with two ducks on the ponds and smoked a long double over the centerfielders head to give them to lead. The Elite would never look back, next Jack Baker hit a run scoring single, then Nick Padula cranked an two RBI double. After that, Nick Kostulias ripped a two run triple. It was a large six run inning for the Elite and set the tone for the rest of the game._x000D_

Going back to Colin Rosen who started this game for the Elite, he was nothing short of excellent. Colin went all five innings, dealing nine strikeouts including two innings of striking out the side. _x000D_

“He had it all working, fastball, slider, curveball, he was really good today.” said the head coach and the LI Elite when asked about Colins performance. The LI Elite beat the Smithtown Bulls 13-4.
