When you’re looking to build a team, it’s important that you have a strong presence up-the-middle. New Mets GM Jared Porter specifically mentioned that in Monday’s press conference when discussing the needs of the Mets. They addressed that need on Saturday with the signing of free agent catcher James McCann. He’s a player that really improved his pitch framing (sixth in the MLB), he throws out 46 percent of would-be base stealers and he also crushes left-handed pitching._x000D_

Sachem North will be hoping that they can count on that type of production behind the dish in 2021 from sophomore Brandon O’Neill. The hard-hitting catcher put up a huge summer season in 2020 for Team BEAST and has a bright future ahead of him._x000D_

Who are some people that have had a positive influence on your baseball career?_x000D_
_x000D_
I will always be thankful for my first travel Coach Rob, who believed in me and showed me the fundamentals and the right way to play the game. I would not be where I am now, if not for my current coach Jose and Coach Gabby who have had a huge impact on my baseball career. They always push me to be the best player I can be and have done nothing but better me as an individual and a baseball player._x000D_

What has been the biggest thrill of your playing career?_x000D_
_x000D_
There have been countless intense games and thrilling moments through the years. One moment that stands out to me the most is the NYBC tournament when our team beat the number six ranked team in the country. It was a great game to be a part of and something I will never forget._x000D_
