Adrenaline Lead Wire to Wire in 12-1 Victory over Legends Baseball

by Nicholas Cipolla

The Adrenaline must’ve been pumping today as it seemed Adrenaline Select out of Toms River, New Jersey came out and dominated the game from pitch one until the final out.

In this mid morning game, The Adrenaline drew first blood. Harold Rodriguez drew a leadoff walk, stole 2 bases, and scored when today’s starting pitcher Evan Bailey grounded out to the shortstop to make it 1-0.

Bailey took the mound in the bottom of the first and retired the side with ease. He set the tone early as he used a great mix of three pitches (Fastball, Changeup, Curveball) to keep the Legends off balance when he was on the mound.

Adrenaline Select really began to pile up some runs in the third. Frankie Viscuso singled and found his way to third base with one out. Nate Baran stepped up and he executed a perfect suicide squeeze bunt that allowed Viscuso to score easily and for himself to reach first as well to make it a 2-0 game. Two batters later, it became a 3-0 game as strike three to Hector Rodriguez got away from the Legends catcher, allowing Baran to score from third on the play.

With runners now on second and third, the legends threw two straight wild pitches, allowing two more runs to come across and make it a 5-0. A few batters later, Logan Macchia hit an RBI single to left to make it 6-0.

In the fourth, Jayden McNeil made it 7-0 when he reached on an error, allowing the runner from third to score. With two men on, Harold Rodriguez kept his day going with a 2 run single up the middle to make it a commanding 9-0 lead in favor of Adrenaline Select.

Logan Macchia and Josh Rommel both had RBI groundouts to make it a 11-0 lead for the Adrenaline. Harold Rodriguez once more scored via a pass ball to put the game even further out of reach, making it 12-0.

Trevor Petrowsky was able to get the lone run for the Legends across with an RBI infield single to make it a 12-1 game.

The Adrenaline were able to dominate on both sides of the field and took advantage of the mistakes made by the Legends en route to victory.
