They won the decisive game 4-1 thanks to a three-run rally in the bottom of the eighth inning, thanks to back-to-back run-scoring triples by Peragine and Baker. Bryan Tatleman improved to 4-0 on the season with the win by throwing 2.1 shutout innings in relief.

Hofstra lost two of three this weekend to Northeastern and fell to 18-20 on the season. They won the middle game 10-8 thanks to Kenny Jackson’s two-run homer in the bottom of the eighth to snap an 8-8 tie. They had been down 5-1 in the third inning also.

NYIT had a rough trip to Hawaii, despite having a more enjoyable weekend than most of us on Long Island. They were swept by a combined score of 43-2. Perhaps it was jet-lag, but the team did not show up to play and fall to 4-40 on the season. In the first game, they lost 17-0, and made three errors while recording one hit.
They will travel to Iona tomorrow.
